From Engineer Brain to Stillness: What I Felt with Eva Müller

I spend a lot of time helping people walk through grief. I ask big questions on this podcast: Who are we? Why are we here? Where do we go? I also ask one more, quieter question: How do we keep going?

My guest, Eva Müller, offered something practical and surprising—energy transmissions that help the body and mind remember peace. I’ll be honest: I’m not usually someone who “feels energy.” I’m an engineer by training. My mind likes spreadsheets, timelines, and clean logic.

And yet, during the meditation Eva led at the end of our conversation, something undeniable happened. When she said, “I’m bringing you fully into the present,” I tried to call up a memory. I went to reach for the future. I couldn’t. Not in a tense way—more like there was nothing to push against. I was simply… here.

It wasn’t a fireworks display. It was stillness. And it felt like relief.

When the Mind Can’t Reach What Hurts

If you’ve followed my work, you know my story. After my daughter passed, I went through grief therapy. One important goal was to remember without reliving the trauma. To hold the love without the sting.

In our conversation, Eva described how much of what floods us isn’t just today’s pain. It’s everything that never finished moving through us—and sometimes what we inherited. That landed for me. I’ve often said I don’t remember much of my early childhood. It’s not that something “must” be wrong. But the mind can’t always trace what the body is holding.

Eva’s point is simple and compassionate: healing doesn’t have to be solved by the mind. Sometimes it begins when we stop trying to fix everything—and allow our system to receive help.

Experiencing, Not Explaining

As an engineer, I’ve leaned on analysis when life breaks. That habit runs deep. So it was humbling to have a felt shift while sitting in silence. No mantra. No technique. Just Eva doing what she does and me being open.

She calls it energy transmissions for healing. I call it a gentle reset. The agitation quieted. The compulsion to figure things out eased. I wasn’t “gone.” I was more here than usual. When we finished, I had that “coming back from a deep meditation” haze. Trying to talk immediately was clumsy. (You can hear me laugh about it on the show.)

That small moment didn’t erase grief. It did show me another way to meet it.

A Practical Hack for Intuition (That I Actually Use)

We also geeked out on something simple: flip a coin when you’re stuck. Not because the coin decides. Because your reaction tells the truth your mind can’t. If it lands on “A” and your gut says “Nope,” you just met your intuition. As someone who once built life by spreadsheets, I love this trick. It sneaks you past analysis and into knowing.

I’ve been practicing this for years. Eva’s framing gave me permission to trust it more.

Motherhood, Fatherhood, and Letting Go

One piece of our conversation that touched me was motherhood as a path. Eva talked about how becoming a mother dissolved preferences and forced surrender in real life. Less “my timing.” More “this child’s timing.”

As a dad, that rang true. Kids remake your calendar and your soul. They drag you into the present whether you’re ready or not. The invitation is to let life lead a little—and that can be holy work.

Memory Without the Hook

Something I appreciated about Eva’s teaching: healing doesn’t erase our history. It loosens the hook. You can remember the cake being eaten (her example) without the fresh anger. For me, that maps to grief work. We want to remember our people with love, and less of the surge that takes our breath away. If energy work can help untangle that, I’m interested.

So… What Do We Do With This?

If any of this resonates, here are small, human-sized steps:

  • Try presence, lightly. Two slow breaths. Feel your feet. That’s it.
  • Flip a coin the next time you’re torn. Watch what your body says.
  • Receive, don’t strive. If you listen to Eva’s guided segment at the end of the episode, just be open. No effort needed.
  • Follow the quiet yes. Joy isn’t frivolous; it’s a compass. Even small joy is data.

And if you’re curious about Eva’s work, she offers an always-on platform at NextElevations.com and a free weekly group meditation and small-group healings at EM-Healing.com. I’m not here to convince you. I’m here to say I noticed something real in my own nervous system—and I respect that.

Growing, Together

Grief doesn’t make you less spiritual. It makes the questions louder. Conversations like this remind me we’re more than our pain—and we don’t have to carry it alone or only with our minds.
